In a presentation on August 9, 2001 at Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency Service Station 58, Lakeside, the Lakeside Fire firefighters donated $430.00 to the Nova Scotia Firefighters Burn Treatment Society for burn care and education.
The donation was made possible by the Lakeside Fire Annual Rummage Sale which took place on March 24, 2001,table rentals and canteen sales at the Firehall. Some of proceeds assisted Station 58 to purchase a digital camera.
More tahn 35 volunteer firefighters dedicated well over 10,000 hours annually in training, emergency scene response to the communities of Beechville, Lakeside and Timberlea.
